New EB-5 Investor Visa Processing System Announced

On March 5, 2026

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) recently announced updates to how EB-5 immigrant investor visa petitions will be managed and processed. The agency has introduced a new “Inventory Management” system designed to improve efficiency and better organize pending EB-5 cases.

The EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program allows foreign investors to obtain lawful permanent residence in the United States by investing in U.S. businesses that create jobs for American workers. Investors must generally invest a minimum amount in a qualifying project and demonstrate that their investment will create at least 10 full-time jobs for U.S. workers.

Under the new inventory management approach, USCIS will group and process certain petitions based on factors such as project location, investment category, and visa availability. This updated system aims to streamline case management and help the agency process petitions more efficiently.

The changes primarily affect Forms I-526 and I-526E, which are used by immigrant investors applying through the EB-5 program. USCIS believes the updated system may help reduce delays and provide more consistent processing across similar cases.

Applicants and investors are encouraged to stay informed about updates to the EB-5 program, as immigration policies and processing procedures may change over time.

What This Means for EB-5 Applicants

Investors considering the EB-5 program should ensure their applications are properly prepared and include all required documentation. Changes in processing systems may affect timelines, so applicants should regularly monitor updates from USCIS.
